The agreement creates legal grounds for expansion of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the defense industry.
Ukraine and Poland signed an agreement on cooperation in the defense sphere.
About this on his page on Twitter reported the press Secretary of the President of Ukraine Svyatoslav Tsigalko.
“Ukraine and Poland will intensify cooperation in the defense sphere. The corresponding agreement was signed by the Ministers of defence”, – he wrote.
The document was signed by Minister of defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak and Minister of national defence of Poland, Anthony Macierewicz.
The General agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Poland on cooperation in the sphere of defense developed the defense Ministry in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On international treaties of Ukraine” on the initiative of the Polish side.
The purpose of the document is creation of legal base for cooperation between the Parties in the defense sector on the principles of reciprocity.

The agreement creates legal grounds for expansion of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the defense industry, in particular in the following areas: military communications and information systems; conducting of scientific-research works for needs of the armed forces; defence policy and planning; logistical support of the armed forces, conduct of military engineering; military infrastructure; development, modernization, manufacture and supply of military equipment, cooperation in the sphere of defence industry; the operations of special forces; other areas of cooperation by mutual consent of the Parties.
The conclusion of the General agreement will have a positive impact on the defense of the state, development of the military-industrial complex and development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also provides for the establishment of a new relevant areas and forms of cooperation of the Parties.
We will remind, today, on 2 December the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is on official visit in Poland. Under the chairmanship of presidents of Ukraine and Poland held talks with delegations of the two countries.
