The President stated that the USSR ceased to exist.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a visit to Poland recalled that 25 years ago Ukraine gained independence, because you don’t want to be a part of the Soviet Union and just didn’t want to be a Soviet colony.
About it informs the website of the President.
“She wanted to be a democratic, free, legal and European state. For 25 years, this feeling and this desire of Ukraine and Ukrainians only strengthened. Old and new version of the Soviet colonial past – it’s just not for us. For us is the unification of Europe”, – said Poroshenko.
But the head of state noted with regret that the USSR ceased to exist: “the Soviet Union is not in the document and not in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The Soviet Union in the minds. In this sense, the Soviet Union is still not buried. And, pardon my frankness, Ukraine is now fighting to bury the Soviet Union in the minds of some, because there is no other reason for the war simply does not exist” – summed Poroshenko.
Recall that Ukraine and Poland considered the European Commission decision on granting Gazprom additional access to the European gas pipelines, one that violates the rules and principles of the Energy community.
This is stated in the joint statement of presidents of Ukraine and Poland Petro Poroshenko and Andrzej Duda.
