Court of Kiev has obliged “Gazprom” to pay Ukraine about 172 billion

This decision was taken in respect of violation of the Antimonopoly legislation of Ukraine.
Today, 5 December 2016, the Economic court of Kyiv has decided to collect from Russian Gazprom a fine and penalty in excess of 171 billion.
This decision was taken in the case at the suit of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and Gazprom on termination of violations of Antimonopoly legislation of Ukraine, reported the press service of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
“The total amount of the penalty is more than 171 billion UAH, because the penalty for late payment of the fine imposed by the decision of the Committee is 85,966 billion UAH”, – stated in the message.
Recall that in January 2016 the Committee I fined PAO “Gazprom” on 85,966 billion UAH for abuse of monopoly position on the market of natural gas transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system. The deadline for the Committee’s decisions ended may 4, 2016.
