The Ukrainian side continues to work hard to ensure the release of all hostages, some of which are already 2 years been kept in prison illegally.
Ukraine during the talks in Minsk as part of a humanitarian sub-group suggested the militants to release 42 of Ukrainians who are held in the occupied territories in exchange for 228 militants.
About this on his page in Facebook wrote a member of the subgroup Irina Gerashchenko.
“Today, ORDO said that they contains 42 Ukrainian. We suggested to immediately transfer 228 citizens (in cases where this is permitted under the law and the legal field), which they asked for in their requests for the immediate release of these 42 Ukrainians-heroes, civilian and military. And then work on search and liberation of all the others. In response I heard that ORDO is ready to release only 8”, – said Gerashchenko.
She also added that the Ukrainian side continues to work diligently to release all 42 hostages, some of which are already 2 years been kept in prison illegally.

According to her, Lugansk separatists confirm the existence of only 6 of the detained Ukrainians, but demand Amnesty and release of more than 440 people.
Gerashchenko stressed that the Minsk negotiations are very hard, but the chance for compromise is still there.
“The Ukrainian side is ready to compromise and humanism in the liberation of hostages in order to unlock the process. For example, a formal appeal of the OSCE recently changed the measure of restraint in connection with a serious illness of one defendant I. P. for crimes related to the conflict. We turned to ORDO, asking to show humanism and to change the measure of restraint I. Kozlovsky, as well as those 5 teenagers, which hold for “sabotage” that children returned to their families living in Donetsk, by the way,” – said in the message.
Gerashchenko added that recently the Red cross was able to get from 31 hostage in the occupied territories, the letter to his family, and relatives, in turn, conveyed to the hostage transfer, but the militants are still not allowed to deliver these programs.
She also stated that the militants have again refused to open the crossing point “gold”.

“Last meeting, they vowed to open a crossing point on 10 December. I asked for the promised opening of the coordinator Frisch, perhaps then it would have accelerated the process, blocked by the militants since March. But….. again refused to open it, a vague explanation as to why, again, do not open,” – said Gerashchenko.
She stressed that without explanation blocked remains the reconstruction of the bridge in the Village of Lugansk.
“Also once again discussed the topic of water. Here, the position of the Ukrainian side is clear: today, the debt for the consumed water in front of the tiny budget of the Popasnyansky area is 277 million. And the water should all pay, including residents of the occupied territories,” she added.
Recall that granee Gerashchenko reported that only joint efforts of the President, the security service of the Parliament and with the support of the international community recently managed to release Vladimir Zhemchugova and UN representative Yuri Suprun. Also Gerashchenko said that for Ukraine now are the key projectsaimed at the restoration of Donbas infrastructure, social aid to victims of Russian aggression and to strengthen peace in the East of the country.
