Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko will become Chairman of the UN Security Council in February 2017.
In February 2017 Ukraine starts its presidency in the UN Security Council. This was announced by the world organization in his Twitter.
So, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko will become Chairman of the UN Security Council.

Note, in the UN security Council always have 5 permanent and 10 non-permanent members. Is held each year to replace five of the ten non-permanent members. So, last year non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2016-2017 was elected as Ukraine, Egypt, Senegal, Uruguay and Japan.
From December 31 to their seats in the Security Council will liberate Angola, Malaysia, Venezuela, New Zealand and Spain.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian delegation initiated consideration in the UN security Council the situation in Georgia in connection with the decision of the Russian Federation to create a United group of forces in Abkhazia.
