Weak operators of collection services will be forced to leave the market
Currently in Ukraine the market of collection services at the stage of formation.
Small players whose job it was to make in the short term, gradually withdraw from the market, and this trend will continue in the coming year. In the near future will be about 4-6 major operators in the market who can cover the whole of Ukraine and will share 80% of the market. The remaining 20% will cover small regional companies.
This was stated at a press conference Igor Prychid, General Director of “Ukrborg”.
“In the market of collection services in the country will remain only those companies that initially built his business with a long-term perspective, focusing on best practices, – said I. Prychid. – Starting in 2014, we are seeing rapid reformatting of the market: many small companies have already ceased operations, while others merged to survive.”
According to the Director “Ukrborg”, cleansing is natural selection, which should complete the process of formation of a civilized market of collection services based on international best practices.
“The low efficiency of debt collection in Ukraine due to several reasons, key among which is the absence of a special law on debt collection activities, governing the market”, – said I. Prychid.
At the moment, the debt collection is regulated by the civil code, the law “On mortgage”, law of Ukraine “On enforcement proceedings” and other normative acts. Law enforcement during 2014-2016 confirms that the Law of Ukraine “on moratorium on recovery of property of Ukrainian citizens provided as collateral for loans in foreign currency” is definitely not settled disputed issues.
“At present, the actual development of the law, which will regulate the issues of restructuring of foreign currency loans by establishing a balance between the interests of borrowers and creditors”, – said General Director of “Ukrborg”.
