The Prosecutor General’s office took over the investigation of the theft of credit from the world Bank
The GPU carries out pre-judicial investigation in criminal proceedings on the fact of theft of credit, which was provided by the world Bank.

In the period from 2007 to 2013, the world Bank provided a loan for the project “urban infrastructure Development” in several regions of Ukraine, including Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv and Donetsk.
The loan funds were provided under the guarantee of the government of Ukraine and the main contractor of the project was the Ministry of regional development, construction and housing and communal services. The funds were to be used for the implementation of reconstruction and modernization of objects that belong to utilities.
Officials of the municipal enterprises transferred money to the accounts of affiliated transit companies. But contracts to include significantly inflated the cost of the work, in some cases, work is performed.
“In a further non-cash funds were converted into cash with the help of the enterprises with signs “fictitiousness” and was distributed between participants of criminal group. However, the credit obligations specified investment projects are carried out at the expense of the State budget”, – stated in the decree of the Pechersk court of Kyiv.

In this way the government significantly overestimated the cost of the work.
