Norway stated that it was important to maintain sanctions against Russia

Norway is in favour of maintaining sanctions against Russia until full implementation of the Minsk agreements.

This was stated by state Secretary of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Norway Marit Berger, Island during the Ukrainian-Norwegian consultations on 13 February on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

“The Norwegian side stressed the principled position of Oslo regarding the condemnation of all manifestations of violations of international law and stressed the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia until full compliance with the Minsk agreements”, – stated in the message the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Island, stressed that Norway’s position regarding the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine remains unchanged.

In addition, his country would continue to participate in projects of humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian population affected by Russian aggression.

We will remind, the United States expanded sanctions against Russia over the situation in Ukraine.

In the sanctions list included seven individuals: Mikhail Dedov, Michael KLISHIN, Kirill Kovalchuk, Dmitry Lebedev, Dmitry Mansurov, Oleg Minaev and Yevgeny Prigozhin.

It should be noted that 19 December 2016, sanctions against Russia and the extended EU. So, the European Council formally extended sectoral sanctions against Russia until 31 July 2017.
