The NBU has prepared a list of possible sanctions against the Ukrainian “daughters” Russian banks

The national Bank of Ukraine has prepared a number of possible sanctions against the Ukrainian “daughters” Russian banks and the parent institutions. The restriction may be imposed by the Council, as soon as those financial institutions begin to serve customers with “passports of DNR and LNR”.

In particular, it is proposed to prohibit the Ukrainian “daughters” to withdraw money from Ukraine for the repayment of loans in Russian state banks. This writes UNIAN.

The press service of NBU said that such possible restrictions aimed at protecting national interests, national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and will protect the interests of the Ukrainian clients, the customers and depositors of these banks in Ukraine will be served as usual.

The national Bank of Ukraine has already sent official requests to Russian banks with regards to service their customers with the “passport of the LC and the DNI.” If this information is confirmed, the controller will return to NSDC with a request to impose sanctions.

We will remind, on 7 March in the Russian media appeared information that the Russian “Sberbank” is ready to serve in Russia customers with “passports LC and DNR”. Previously, a decree on Russia’s recognition of these “documents” that give fighters, was signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Official Kiev does not recognize such documents, and the actions of Putin calls another proof that the occupation of Donbas by Russia.

The Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov called on the NBU to impose sanctions against the Russian “Sberbank” for accepting fake documents and to terminate its activities on the territory of Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman supported the idea of introduction of sanctions against the Russian “Sberbank”.

Subsidiary Bank of Russian Sberbank in Ukraine, assured that the Bank operates within the legal framework of the country and does not accept “passports of DNR and LNR”.
