Ukraine spends on defense, more than double NATO – Klimkin
Ukraine spends on defense 6.6% of GDP, twice the average among NATO countries.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin during a speech in the Committee on appropriations of the U.S. Senate.
The Minister noted that “Ukraine is at the forefront and is now the only country that fights and dies in order to contain Russia”. At the same time, Ukraine needs the support and solidarity from the United States.
“A strong, stable and democratic Ukraine, capable of protecting its borders from Russian expansionism, is a major ally of the United States in the region”, – said Klimkin.
