EU to extend individual sanctions in connection with the Ukrainian situation – the media
The EU intends to extend the restrictive measures in connection with the situation in Ukraine.
It is expected that the sanctions will come into force in the near future, it said a diplomatic source in the EU institutions, reports Interfax.
“This decision was adopted by written procedure and may be held in the near future”, – said the Agency interlocutor.

The observation that such a clause is not announced in the agenda of the meetings of the Committee of permanent representatives of EU countries on 15 March (Coreper), the source said: “we Believe that a decision is expected before the session of March 15. It is likely that it will be accepted today.”
Recall that the last time an individual sanctions of the EU was extended on 14 September 2016. It was about the extension of the restrictive measures in respect of 149 individuals and 37 legal entities, whose assets in the EU frozen and who are banned entry to the EU.
Earlier, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Yug Mingarelli said the absence of a strengthening of anti-Russian sanctions on the agenda in the EU.
The Ambassador hopes that the EU can maintain its unity on the issue of sanctions against Russia. When asked about the inclusion in the sanctions list of new legal entities Mingarelli said that this issue also is not on the agenda in the EU.
