KCSA will appeal to the culture with a request to move the monument to Shchors
The monument to the Soviet military leader Mykola Shchors in Kiev can be moved to the Museum the monumental propaganda of Soviet Union, which is created at ENEA.
This was stated by the Deputy of the mayor of Kyiv Volodymyr Prokopiv, transfers gromadske.
The Commission of Kyiv city Council on culture, tourism and information policy has prepared a draft decision which provides for an appeal to the Ministry of culture of Ukraine with a request to submit the proposal to transfer the monument to Shchors to the Cabinet.
In KSCA note that the pedestal is a monument of monumental art and is included in the list of cultural heritage of national importance. Therefore, the movement of the monument is impossible without the consent of the highest authorities.
“On the one hand, there is a law on de-communization, which falls under the monument to Schors, on the other hand we, as a responsible person should maintain a unique monument of monumental art,” said Prokopiv.
The draft decision will be considered at the plenary session of the city Council.
