Parubiy warns of the danger of direct aggression of the Russian Federation from the territory of Belarus
Russian-Belarusian military exercises “West-2017”, which will be held this fall, can be used to carry out direct aggression against neighboring countries, including against Ukraine.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy paruby, speaking at a meeting of the Interparliamentary assemblies “Ukraine – Poland – Lithuania” on Monday.
According to Parubiy, one should not ignore “worst-case scenario: the use of exercise, at least for the militarization of Belarus and the maximum implementation of direct aggression or subversive activities from the territory of Belarus against our countries”.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada believes that the current situation in Belarus cannot be viewed separately from the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine and European democracy. Parubiy is convinced that “the Kremlin uses roughly the Belarusian people as a hostage of their occupation policy”.
“So we have to pay special attention to the issue of Belarus and to strengthen cooperation among themselves and other countries of the EU and NATO to prevent the implementation of dangerous plans of Putin in Belarus or in Belarus,” – said paruby.
