Poroshenko was important to discuss with Tillerson on the deteriorating situation in the Donbass

The aggravation of the situation in the Donbas has become one of the key topics of the telephone conversation of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson.

“Obgovorili the worsening situation in the Donbass due to the increase in the number of attacks by Russian fighters and irresponsible withdrawal of the Russian officers from the Joint center for control and coordination of the ceasefire regime in the Donbas. In a telephone conversation also coordinated positions on the UN peacekeeping mission in the occupied part of Donbass”, – stated in the page Poroshenko in Facebook.

The President also thanked for the extension of sanctions against Russia, Washington’s support for strengthening the defense of Ukraine and the UN resolution concerning Russia annexed the Crimea. Rex Tillerson stressed that the United States will continue to support Ukraine.

They also discussed the progress of reforms in Ukraine. In particular, Poroshenko told Tillerson about unlocking process of creating an anti-corruption court.

Recall three hours later – 23 December at 00:00 in the Donbas should be a ceasefire because of the Christmas and new year holidays. The parties agreed on 20 December at the talks in Minsk.
