Not a suicide: Saakashvili explained why he went up on the roof during detention by security forces
The leader of the party “Movement new forces,” Mikheil Saakashvili stated that climbed to the roof of his apartment block when he tried to stop security forces in December 2017, not through suicide, and to call.
He said this during an interview with DW journalist Tim Sebastian.
In particular, the journalist asked Saakashvili why he promised to unite all the opposition forces against the President, and then threatened to throw himself from the roof of flats.

According to him, he went up on the roof because his mobile phone was jammed.
“I had to call people. It was a very pragmatic step. The message can be sent only on the edge of the roof. So in our days mobile communication”, – Saakashvili said.
The journalist in response to this said that such actions are similar to some “street theater” and that Saakashvili “has lost touch with reality.”
“No, it’s not about me,” said the leader of the “Movement of new forces.”
Recall, January 9 Mhel Saakashvili came for questioning to the Prosecutor’s office, where he spent the last two hours. The challenge concerned the shootings on the Maidan.
