Poroshenko discussed with the Secretary General of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during his visit to Germany met with the UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres. The main issue that was discussed at the meeting was the introduction of the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass.

“The interlocutors agreed that the main task of the upcoming mission of the UN should be providing a full peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbas and the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders”, – stated in the message.
Poroshenko and Guterres also expressed concern about the continued deterioration of the situation with human rights in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The President of Ukraine stressed the need for the international community to take additional measures to force Russia to comply with the resolutions of the UN General Assembly on Crimea.
Earlier it was reported that the report of the UN expert at Columbia University in new York, Richard Goana says that Ukraine must forward 24 thousand peacekeepersto help resolve the conflict in the Donbas. According to the document, the peacekeeping mission should include about 20 thousand troops from countries that do not belong to NATO, as well as four thousand policemen.
According to the UN expert, the contingent will include representatives of European countries such as Sweden. Also should be presented to the country with the experience of participation in peacekeeping missions, such as Brazil. The government trusts Russia – for example, Belarus.
