The government is negotiating with the IMF on gas prices.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has left unchanged the tariffs for gas for the population until June of this year, continuing specobuv the combination of “Naftogaz” on gas sales to the population.

The corresponding decision of the government adopted at its meeting on Wednesday, March 28, reports the Economic truth.

The international monetary Fund demands to cancel specobuv yazki from 1 April, but the government noted that negotiations with the Fund on gas prices is still going on, so there was a need to extend the duties.

The increase in gas prices requires the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 187 of 22 March 2017. This document specifies that the price is calculated on the basis of import parity. The government had to publish this index on 1 July of last year, but instead delayed the date of publication for an indefinite period.

Now Cabinet approves mechanism for determining gas prices with the IMF and the European energy community. Before the publication of the decision, the price will remain at the current level — 4,942 thousand UAH per thousand cubic meters without VAT.

We will remind, since April, the NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” will increase the price of gas supplied to industrial consumers on a prepaid basis. After that cost thousands of cubic meters of fuel will be 8.67 thousand, representing a growth of UAH 774 (9.8% of current prices).
