The Patriarchate confirmed the start of procedures for the establishment of the Autocephalous Church in Ukraine

Konstantinopolsky of the Orthodox Church, which is also called the Ecumenical Patriarchate, called himself a “true mother Church” for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

This is stated in the communiqué of the Synod of the Patriarchate regarding the next meeting on 19-20 April, during which among other things discussed the question of autocephaly for the Ukrainian Church.
