In Ukraine in may is 12% more expensive trains. “Ukrzaliznytsya” plans to raise tariffs from 1 April. But only now completed the approval of new tariffs. It is not only the rise in price of train tickets. Until the end of the year prices will rise another 12%. For example, fare in a compartment on the night train on average will increase by UAH 100.

The acting Chairman of the Board of “Ukrainian Railways” Evgeny Kravtsov in a live program “snidanok z “1+1” said that with the rising prices of travel and improve the service and quality of service provision.

“Yes, of course (to improve service). From a rise in price of tickets for travel this year we should get about 400-500 million. While this year we have planned capital investments in the passenger sector, about 5 billion hryvnia. If we talk in specific cars, that’s approximately 200 new cars and repaired, we plan to launch this year. It’s more than 10 full trains. New cars – repaired or newly acquired – may be the key to better service for passengers. In old cars it’s much harder to do,” said Kravtsov.

He also spoke about the “revolution” in the system of cleaning the trains and the fight against cockroaches.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine is ready to cooperate with one of the world’s largest manufacturers of trains.
