The Ministry expressed hope that the Italian government once again condemned the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The Ukrainian foreign Ministry invited the Ambassador of Italy in Ukraine with the purpose of protest and clarification of the Italian side because of the words of the Minister about the Crimea and the Revolution of Dignity.
It is noted that the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine with indignation have apprehended statements of Minister of internal Affairs of Italy Matteo Salvini, in an interview with The Washington Post, which questioned the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“We condemn the attitude of the Italian politics as such, which is not based on real facts and is contrary to recognized principles and norms of international law”, – reads the statement of the foreign Ministry.

“Sure, that’s irresponsible remarks and statements of some politicians not able to question the firm position of the international community to support Ukraine in restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity”, – concluded the Minister.
We will remind, the interior Minister of Italy Matteo Salvini considers Crimea legally Unexbank Russia, and the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine a “fake” and “financed”. He stated this in an interview with The Washington Post. He also added that his party “League”, which has no connection with the “United Russia” ostensibly did not receive any funds from Russia for the promotion of their political power.
