The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin commented on the statement by the US state Department not to recognize the annexation of Crimea by Russia and emphasized the strengthening of efforts to put pressure on Russia.

“This Declaration reaffirms the constancy of US policy in the question of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity. As well as the Declaration of Veles, 1940, the United States has consistently supported the fundamental principle of international law, ex injuria jus non oritur. Misconduct cannot be the basis for the rights of the offender.
