Poroshenko has approved the Doctrine of information security to counter the Russian propaganda
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a Decree enacted the decision of the Council of national security and defense “of the Doctrine Of information security of Ukraine” and approved it.
The document comes into force from the day of its publication, the press service of the head of state.
As noted in the document, the need for the adoption of the Doctrine due to the emergence of threats to national security in the information sphere, as well as the need to identify innovative approaches to formation of system of protection and development of information space in the context of globalization and the free circulation of information.

“The purpose of Doctrine is to clarify the principles of formation and implementation of state information policy, particularly to counter the destructive information impact of the Russian Federation in the conditions unleashed a hybrid war”, – stated in the message.
For the implementation of the Doctrine of the national security Council should coordinate activities of Executive authorities on ensuring national security in the information sphere.
In addition it is noted that the Cabinet will be to ensure the implementation of state information policy, the funding of programs related to information security, to guide and coordinate the work of ministries, other Executive bodies in this sphere.
