The European Union agreed on the introduction of a visa-free regime with Ukraine

In the European Union ended inter-institutional negotiations on the visa-free regime to Ukraine.

Negotiations conducted between the European Parliament, the EU Council and the European Commission, the outcome was the decision to introduce bezviz for citizens of Ukraine. It is reported by the Maltese EU presidency, whose representative participated in the meeting.

The report says that on Thursday the decision will be confirmed at the Committee of permanent representatives of member countries of the EU (COREPER).

The journalist of “Radio Liberty” Rikard Jozwiak reported that on 2 March, the ambassadors of the EU approves visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens. A second round of approval can occur in may.

In accordance with the procedure, this decision must still be taken by a Committee of European Parliament on civil liberties. Then vote on bizwise will be held at the European Parliament, the Council of the EU approves it. Their signatures under the document have put the President of the European Parliament and representatives of the Council. The document must be published in the EU Official journal and will enter into force 20 days after this, UNIAN reports.

Recall that on 14 February the European Parliament adopted the mechanism of temporary suspension bezveza.

Also on 2 February the European Parliament voted for the introduction of a visa-free regime with Georgia. In turn, 22 February the ambassadors of the European Union approved the mechanism of suspension bezveza with Georgia.

Note the European Parliament’s Committee on civil liberties, justice and internal Affairs approved an agreement to provide the citizens of Georgia visa-free access to the Schengen area as early as 12 January.
