In KSCA said, how will the reconstruction of the Kiev zoo – site will remove grilles for animals and noisy rides.
Reconstruction should begin in may and will be held in several stages. The zoo will work even during works. Officials promise that it will match European standards and as close as possible to natural conditions.

“The position of city authorities is unequivocal – the Metropolitan zoo will remain where it was historically. But we will make it better, more attractive, it will become one of the true landmarks of our city. Also pay attention to that now 30% is the area of the zoo that is not used. After the reconstruction there will be a significant increase in usable area”, – said the Deputy Chairman of the KSCA Alexander Spasibo.
According to the Director of the Kiev zoo Cyril Trantina, the updated site will be no noisy rides and lattice animals. The zoo must receive a viewing platform, a unified environment for animals and people, and also a great and interesting tour.
During the reconstruction will be saved to a unique collection of plants as the main materials for updates will be wood, stone and glass.
The territory of the zoo will be divided into several zones: exhibition, recreation, research and business. The first phase of reconstruction includes the reconstruction of wetlands, primatice and the main entrance.
