Poroshenko presented the “star of the hero of” parents of the deceased Atoshnik and singer Slipka
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko presented the Star of Hero parents, Opera singer and fighter of the ATO Vasyl Slipak. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.
Petro Poroshenko told the parents of prominent Ukrainian that the area where he defended the position, was very important for the APU.

“It is extremely important for Ukraine land near the village of Lugansk in the direction Logvinova when from Debaltsevo on the part of the Armed forces of Ukraine was attacked. Like a true hero he raised our troops in a counterattack, we are stuck in positions. It is his life, his heroic actions saved dozens of lives of our soldiers,” – said the President.
Garant said that Slepak not only defended their homeland, but left for the sake of a comfortable life of a famous singer in Paris.
“When we have heroes like Basil, with such a spirit, with such force, with such love of country, and with such an example of life – we are invincible”, – said the Ukrainian leader.
Poroshenko said that over three years of war, Ukraine has paid the highest price – the lives of their best sons and daughters. In his opinion, Russia hoped to quickly defeat Ukraine, which at that time had no weapons.
“But we proved that even when outgunned, there is a feeling when you’re up in arms to defend their land, fighting for every scrap of Ukrainian land, we do not give and to give not going,” he said.
Poroshenko also thanked the parents of Basil Kipaka for the education of his son.
“Call your son was a “Myth.” Today, this call sign and your son’s name known all over the country. Hundreds of Ukrainian boys want to be like him,” said the President, adding that while Ukraine has such men, it is invincible.
Vasily Slipak was posthumously awarded for exceptional courage and heroism demonstrated while defending state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and also dedication to the Ukrainians.
We will remind, the member of the ATO Vasyl Slipak died early on 29 June 2016, near the settlement Lugansk Bakhmut district, Donetsk region. He hit the enemy sniper.
Vasily Slipak, the Opera singer with a world name, which for 19 years has lived and worked in France, at the Paris Opera. With the beginning of the Russian aggression it has left European career and returned to defend Ukraine.
