NBU says “weight loss” of foreign exchange reserves
During February of 2018, the international reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine decreased by 0.4% c to 18.58 billion to 18.5 billion.
“The reserves today make up about 18.5 billion dollars with the interventions of the National Bank”, – said at the briefing Deputy head of the NBU Oleg Chury, quoted by UNIAN.
Recently, the regulator intervenes by buying foreign currency almost daily.
We will remind, in January of this year, foreign exchange reserves also declined by 1.2% (228 million dollars), to 18.58 billion dollars at the end of the month. For 2017, the reserves increased by 21 percent to 18,808 billion dollars.
The national Bank predicts growth of reserves at the end of 2018 to 20.5 billion dollars. However, in 2019 they “lose weight” – because Ukraine will need to pay a significant debt.
