The regulator wants to replenish the gold reserves.

To replenish international reserves of the national Bank of Ukraine will buy in the interbank market to 10 million dollars per day during the second quarter of this year.

“The purchase of this volume will not significantly influence the situation on the interbank market. At the same time, depending on market situation, intervention buying may be smaller or not happen at all. The volume of purchases during the day can exceed the declared amount, however, such interventions will be conducted to accomplish other tasks stipulated in the Strategy of currency interventions of the National Bank for 2016-2020, in particular for smoothing out the functioning of the foreign exchange market”, – noted in the NBU.

Earlier it was reported that foreign exchange reserves of the national Bank “lose weight” for the fourth consecutive month.
