The Ministry insists that the Ukrainian products, they should not be extended.
The European Commission has approved the introduction of provisional protective measures in the framework of the investigation in respect of metal and from July 19 to 200 days imposes tariff quotas on imports of 23 species of such products.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of economic development and trade.
“Tariff rate quotas will be applied on the basis of the principle “first come, first served (first – come, first-received) and after the quota is exhausted, until the next supply will apply a fee of 25%”, – stated in the message.
Also, the economic development Ministry said that 11 types of Ukrainian steel products have fallen under the protective measures. However, even 17 yet not limited to them, as concerning them more will be investigated.

The Ministry of economic development jointly with the Ukrainian manufacturers advocated the position that Ukraine is a country that is developing, and in accordance with the provisions of the WTO agreements, the import of Ukrainian products with a share less than 3% of total imports of goods in the EU should be excluded from the scope of the measures.
Earlier, the US imposed a 25 percent duty on steel imports and a 10 percent import duty for the import of aluminium with the EU, Mexico and Canada. “It’s a bad day for world trade”, – commented the representative of the European trade Commission Cecilia Malmstrom.
In response, the EU supported the introduction of fees in the amount of 25% on American goods. Under the duty will be such well-known brands like Harley Davidson and Levi’s, as well as American Bourbon. In addition, the list of commodities includes maize, rice, peanut butter, orange juice, tobacco and the like. For duties the United States also said Canada.
