The cancellation of the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to France is a sign of the isolation of Russia.
This was stated by the official representative of administration of U.S. President Josh Ernest, – RIA Novosti reported.
The White house criticized Russia for supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. “Their attempts to do so provoked contempt from the international community and forced Russia to feel isolated. So isolated that President Putin did not feel confident to appear at the opening of the Church in France,” said Ernest.

Earlier, Putin explained his refusal to travel to Paris by the decision of the French authorities to make the main topic of the visit is not the opening of the Russian religious and cultural center, and the situation in Syria. “We were told that the main reason — the reason of my trip to Paris and the opening of a cultural-religious center — it is not appropriate. But if the main reason for my trip to Paris is inappropriate, then, perhaps, we will find another opportunity to meet and discuss Syria”, — said Putin.
