In Kiev, Moscow street want to rename in honor of the fighters of “Godzilla”

The legendary Dmitry Gudzenko died the day before the withdrawal of forces from the zone of ATO.
In Kiev, the Moscow street in the Pechersk district want to rename in honor of a soldier ATO Dmitry Gudzenko with the call sign “Godzilla”, who died in March this year.
Such recommendation the city Council has given the Commission on names.
During the discussion someone said that the name of the Moscow street is historic, but the Deputy Chairman of the KCSA Oleksiy Reznikov said: “With all due respect, but this is not the street that I want to see on the map of Kiev.”
In addition to the streets of Moscow, the Commission recommends to the city Council to change the names of the two streets. So, Geroyev Stalingrad Avenue in the Obolon district is proposed to be renamed in honor of the Ukrainian composer and poet, Hero of Ukraine Volodymyr Ivasiuk, and the street Petrovsky in the area Desnyanskiy – in honor of chemical engineer, art critic and collector Vasily Bearing.

Also, the Commission addressed to the mayor of Kiev and the Deputy mayor-Secretary of Kyiv city Council on the resumption of the procedure of renaming the Avenue Vatutina Avenue Shukhevych.
Appropriate renaming already passed public discussion and was supported by the people of Kiev, noted on the website of the KSCA.

We will remind, the legendary military of the 17th infantry battalion of the 57th brigade Dmitry Gudzenko with the call sign “Godzilla” died March 31, 2016.
