The loan will be guaranteed by the International Bank for reconstruction and development.
In the near future Ukraine will issue a loan of 500 million U.S. dollars for the purchase of gas for the winter, the company “Naftogaz of Ukraine”. The corresponding contract with the International Bank for reconstruction and development (IBRD is the world Bank) will be signed by the Finance Minister Alexander danyluk. To do this it today, 2 November, was authorized by the Cabinet.
The Board of Directors of the Bank adopted the decision on granting loan guarantees to Ukraine on 18 October.
“The attraction of funds will occur according to the loan agreement to be concluded between “Naftogaz of Ukraine” and the city and Deutsche banks”, – said in the government.
The loan guarantees IBRD lenders will provide a loan at a lower interest rate.

Guarantee IBRD with the following conditions:
– amount of guarantee – up to 500 thousand U.S. dollars;
fee for guarantee – 0.5% per annum of the amount of guarantees issued by the IBRD (paid every six months advance payment);
the fee for the reservation – 0.25% per annum of the amount of guarantees issued by the IBRD (paid during the period between the signing of the cooperation Agreement to the introduction of IBRD guarantees in force);
– one – time Commission of 0.25% of the amount of the IBRD guarantee;
– the Commission for the introduction – 0,15% of the amount of the IBRD guarantee;
– Commission for clearance to 0.10% of the amount of the IBRD guarantee.
All commissions will be to pay “Naftogaz of Ukraine”.
We will remind, last year for the purchase of gas from Europe in the winter took a 300 million Euro loan from the European Bank for reconstruction and development.
At the same time, Ukraine almost a year buys gas from Russia.
