Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada assured the public yesterday the agenda of the European Parliament is not final.

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy called on MEPs to vote in favour of visa-free regime to Ukraine to mark the anniversary of the Revolution of dignity.

This paruby said during a meeting with a delegation of the Subcommittee on security and defence of the foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament on the eve of sending them to Donbass.

“Addressed to the MEPs, with many of them I met in the times of Maidan, a request to the anniversary of the revolution of dignity in the European Parliament, was finally voted on the issue of visa-free regime with Ukraine,” – wrote the speaker of Parliament on his page on Facebook.

According to Parubiy, one of the members of the delegation assured him that the published agenda of the European Parliament is not final – there will be amended.

“I am convinced and believe that the people who were with us on the Maidan, will make every effort to keep the anniversary of the revolution of dignity to decide on the complete liberalization of the visa regime between Ukraine and EU”, – said the head of the Ukrainian Parliament.

Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Elena zerkal believes that the introduction in the agenda of the European Parliament’s consideration of the question of possibility of introduction of a visa-free regime of Ukraine with EU can take place after 7 November.

As reported, on September 26, the European Parliament’s Committee on civil liberties supported the granting Ukraine visa-free regime. In turn, Petro Poroshenko repeatedly stressed that the Ukrainians will get visa-free regime until November 24.

Earlier, on 28 October, the President of the European Council Donald Tusk in a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko noted that before granting Ukraine visa-free regime, the EU should complete the internal procedures. Note that further progress on visa-free regime for Ukraine will not be until will not be approved a new mechanism for suspension of visa-free regimes.
