The United States is not planning to join the “channel format“.
This was stated in an interview with US Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, reports Radio Liberty.
“I don’t think now there are plans on joining US to “Norman format”. But this does not mean that the United States are not active on the diplomatic front. We cooperate with Ukraine, have consultations with France and Germany. Periodically we also have a meeting with the Russians to see if there is way for constructive advance in the process. Such is our support of the “Normandy four” foreign Ministers”, she added.
“I think we support Ukraine in other ways, and are very active in this support. We are in constant contact with the Ukrainian authorities, and likewise with our partners in France and Germany”, – concluded Jovanovic.

We will remind, on October 19 in Berlin, a meeting of leaders of member countries of the “Normandy format”. At the end of four hours of talks, the parties decided to develop a road map for the implementation of the Minsk agreements, to extend the OSCE mission in Donbass and identify four new areas for cultivation of the parties to the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

The President said: there are only two alternatives to the Minsk agreements. This is either a military solution to the conflict, or the rejection of the occupied territories.
