The embodiment of the agreement will significantly support the middle class in both countries.
The government of Canada filed in Federal Parliament a bill required for ratification of the Agreement on free trade with Ukraine (СUFTA).
This was stated by the Minister of international trade of Canada Chrystia Freeland , writes UKRINFORM.
“This contract is further proof of support for Canada’s independence, sovereignty and economic growth of Ukraine,” said Freeland. According to her, the embodiment of the agreement will significantly support the middle class in both countries.
The Ministry of international trade added that Canada intends to ratify CUFTA. “Canada is determined to work with the people of Ukraine for assistance in translating important economic and democratic reforms and strengthening business ties between the two countries”, – said the Agency.
We will remind that the agreement on free trade between Ukraine and Canada was signed on 11 July this year during the visit of Justin Trudeau in Kiev. With the entry into force of that will be possible after the completion of ratification by the parliaments of both countries, Canada will immediately abolish tariffs on 99.9% of Ukrainian imports. In turn, Ukraine also cancels 86% duties on imports from Canada, for 7 years bringing the customs policy in parity.

Earlier, Canada and the EU signed the agreement on trade-economic cooperation between the EU and Canada (CETA).
The signing ceremony was held in Brussels on 30 October.
The agreement was signed by the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, the President of the European Council Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
