The head of U.S. intelligence sees no prospects for the settlement of the situation in the Donbass

Prospects of settlement of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine and implementation of Minsk agreements today, probably not.

This was stated by the head of US national intelligence James Clapper, – reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.

“I see no prospects of settlement or the implementation of the Minsk agreements”, – he said.

He is convinced that “the Russians want to maintain its influence” and that “the pressure will continue”.

According to Clapper, the recent cases of ceasefire violations in the Donbas.

We will remind that the Director of national intelligence James Clapper has officially filed a letter of resignation, however can still remain in office until the expiration of the Obama administration.

75-year-old Clapper, who for more than 50 years in the service, made his statement during the period of transfer of power from the administration of current us President Barack Obama’s Cabinet elected President of Donald trump. The new team has not yet occurred appointments in this area.
