Ukraine’s first “green” building will open in September 2017
Ukraine’s first building built on the technologies of “green” energy-efficient construction, will open in September 2017.

So, it will be BC АSTARTA, located in Kiev at the hem at the intersection of the Lower Shaft and Naberezhno-Khreschatytska. In August 2016, the building project was certified under the international standard BREEAM Interim 2013 and was the first in Ukraine the appropriate certificate of green building.
It is worth noting that the British standard BREEAM is one of the most common system of environmental assessment of real estate. It is very popular in the Netherlands, Sweden, France, China, Turkey, Poland, Germany. In total in the world today are certified already 550 789 buildings.
“Green building” involves the use of only environmentally friendly materials and energy-saving technologies. Its main task is the construction and operation of buildings with minimal impact on the environment and reduction of costs in terms of energy and water resources, reducing waste and harmful emissions.
As reported by journalists in the first in Ukraine building that is certified under the BREEAM standard, in the design phase was carried out modeling of their energy consumption using the international standard ASHRAE and impact assessment of the basic materials on the environment. In particular, it was designed by a landscape design that will improve local flora through the use of plants from different regions of the world with similar climate conditions, for example, of the Lapland moss, cherry and barberry.
The project envisages encouraging the use of alternative modes of transport by locating Bicycle Parking and electric car charging stations, and the use of energy efficient technologies that reduce electricity consumption by about 20%.
It should be noted that the innovative project is also confirmed by the experts of the prestigious award in the real estate sector in Eastern Europe and Asia EEA PROJECT AWARDS 2016, giving the victory BTS ASTARTA immediately in 2 categories – “innovation of the year” and “Business centre of the year”.
“BC АSTARTA sustainable and responsible towards nature, efficient and ergonomic in relation to the person. This should be the architecture of the XXI century. We are pleased that building such a facility to help Kiev to develop in the same spirit as other major European cities,” said project Manager Ivan Pugolovkin.
