Russia is able to provide gas to itself and other States – Putin.

Thesis about Europe’s dependence on Russian gas is worthless, said the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

“There is absolutely not groundless idea that those who buy our gas, become dependent on Russia, It is absolutely stupid, worthless argument, because that mutual dependence”, – quotes the President TASS.

Putin added that Russia could provide gas to itself and other States. In his words, “few people know about it, it has not publicly say, Gazprom supplies Europe with as much gas as has never supplied neither Russia nor the Soviet Union.”

Putin even said that Russia’s fault there was not a single case of disruption of gas supplies to Europe.

Speaking of the pipeline “Nord stream–2”, the resolution of which was not given to Poland, Putin said that, in his opinion, the project is still implemented.

We will remind that earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held telephone talks, during which discussed the situation around the supply of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine.

Putin warned Merkel that, under forecasts of weather forecasters, the winter cold is expected, therefore, according to him, “may increase the risk of unauthorized siphoning the Ukrainian side of the Russian gas supply to Europe in accordance with the applicable contracts.” The negotiating parties agreed that this issue “will be held contacts at the European Commission, of the Ministry of energy of Russia and “Gazprom””.

Ukraine is seeking an increase in tariff for transit of Russian gas. The current contract provides that the European should not only be the price of Russian gas, but the price of fuel transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system to Europe. In Moscow, however, this detail is hard not pay attention and refuse any negotiations on the subject.
