On interrogation in Prosecutor’s office of the woman who 9 days left young children at home alone, said: “I didn’t know that children can die.” This was reported by the presidential Commissioner for children’s rights Mykola Kuleba.

“The children tried to get out of the apartment, looking for a loophole in which it would be possible to call for help. At the front door even tore out the linoleum! The neighbors heard the children crying every morning and every evening. There is information that even the police were called, but on request, the door no one answered and the police were gone. The boy died on December 3, three days she spent alone with the corpse of his brother. Ambulance to the children called the mother herself. Kuleba said that the girl in the intensive care unit began to refuse the bodies, but later it became known that her condition has improved.
Kuleba noted not only the actions of the mother, against whom the criminal proceedings are opened under article 135 “leaving in danger”, but the inaction of other relatives, neighbors, police, garden, which a few months the children have not seen, doctors to whom the children were not taken for medical examination, and other related situation.
