Today, 6 December, with the occasion of Day of Armed forces of Ukraine the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has assigned posmertno awarded the order of Hero of Ukraine two security officers – Andrei Snitko and Sergey Tabal.
Order “gold star” the head of state handed over to the families of the victims of war. Poroshenko announced that the two heroes were only 18 years old.

“The exploits of your son Andrew and grandson of Sergei will forever remain in people’s memory, in military history of Ukraine. They represent the indomitable spirit of the defenders of the Ukrainian land,” Poroshenko said, referring to the families of dead soldiers.
Andrei Snitko laid his body Russian grenade, rescuing fellow soldiers under Ilovaiskaya. Sergey Taba died heroically, reflecting the militants ‘ assault during the defense control tower of the Donetsk airport.

Also during the ceremony the head of state reminded about the number of victims of Russian aggression.
“The total number of war victims is striking, it reached ten thousand. Russia took the life of not only our military 2558 from the Armed Forces and other security agencies that protect the country and 7500 civilians of Ukraine. This mortal sin – the souls of the high military-political leadership of the Russian Federation, which seeks to restore the Empire, and ignores the lives and destiny of people,” he said.
The memory of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians killed in the war unleashed against Ukraine, Russia, observed a minute of silence.
Also Poroshenko awarded the highest state honours servicemen who distinguished themselves in the area of ATO and volunteers who helped our military.
The President expressed the opinion that the enemy attack is concentrated his main force on the internal destabilization of Ukraine
“This is evidence that the military did very well with the task of deterring the aggressor,” – said in the message Poroshenko on Twitter.
The awarding of the security forces on the occasion of the APU occurred in the capital’s Mariinsky Palace.
