The EU is ready to contribute in the post-war restoration of Donbass.

The EU high representative of for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini said that Russia’s actions in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine have undermined established 41 years ago in Helsinki, the European security order.

This Mogherini said at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of foreign Affairs of the countries-participants of OSCE in Hamburg, Interfax reported.

According to her, the security order based on sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of States, inviolability of borders, peaceful settlement of disputes and the free choice of countries in your future.

“Today, these ancient key principles of European security are not met, the crisis in and around Ukraine is still not resolved, and the region, as before, burdened by protracted conflicts,” she said.

“Failure happens when we allow to take over our differences instead of focusing on common interests and necessary for the provision of international organizations”, – said Mogherini.

She also reiterated the EU’s position on “illegal annexation of Crimea and destabilizing actions of Russia in Eastern Ukraine.”

According to her, the EU does not recognize Russia established the status of Crimea and will insist on its revision. The EU will also continue to call for a ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine and full implementation of the Minsk agreements by all parties.

Recall, the EU will not change its position regarding Russia. The EU does not intend to change its position against Russia, even if the US will change his point of view in this matter. “The EU has taken a very principled position concerning the illegal annexation of Crimea and the situation in Ukraine.
