The EU should urgently provide well-deserved visa-free regime for Ukraine – EU Commissioner

The EP Committee approved the mechanism of temporary suspension of the visa-free regime.

The European Union Commissioner for enlargement and European neighbourhood policy Johannes Hahn believes that the EU should immediately abolish visas for Ukrainian citizens.

“Visa liberalization for Ukraine and Georgia: welcome today’s approval of the suspension mechanism supported by the majority of the European Parliament Committee on civil liberties, justice and home Affairs. Pleased that our tireless work brings results. Now the EU needs to urgently provide a well-deserved visa-free regime for Ukrainian and Georgian citizens,” – said the Commissioner.

8 Dec profile the European Parliament’s Committee on civil liberties, justice and home Affairs approved a mechanism for temporary suspension of visa-free regime with third countries. The adoption of this issue is a condition of visa-free regime for Ukraine and Georgia.
