According to him, European politicians did everything they could.
Responsible for the completion of the ratification process of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU rests on the Netherlands.
This was stated by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk during a press conference after the official part of the EU summit in Brussels, UNIAN news Agency reports.
“We took a legally binding decision to simplify the ratification in the Netherlands. This decision answers all the concern that was expressed by the Dutch. Now the responsibility is on the Netherlands”, – said Tusk.

According to him, to save the Association Agreement, which has already been ratified by 27 States and the European Parliament, was every effort after the ratification of the agreement “is important not only for Ukraine but also for the geopolitical situation and the reliability of Europe”.
“We expect our Dutch colleagues,” – said Tusk.
Earlier, in the Netherlands threatened to refuse to ratify the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. One of the requirements of the EU must declare that the Association agreement with Ukraine does not mean additional obligations or security of a financial nature. The Netherlands also need to recognize that the agreement will provide the Ukrainians the right to freely live and work in the EU. One of the most controversial points – and he still is not agreed, concerns the possible membership of Ukraine in EU.
After that, the EU leaders agreed with the requirements of the Netherlands concerning the Association Agreement with Ukraine. However, even this is no guarantee that the Parliament will ratify the Agreement.
