In Berlin I see no contradiction in the words of Ambassador Reichel on elections in Donbass — the representative of the German foreign Ministry
Elections in the East of Ukraine may occur when their modality agree Kiev and Moscow.
This position of the official Berlin the official representative of the German foreign Ministry Martin Schaefer, reports UKRINFORM.
“Of course, these regional elections, under the terms of the Minsk agreements can only be held when both parties reach an understanding on their modalities,” said Schaefer.

So, he sees no contradiction between the official position of Berlin and the Ambassador of Germany in Ukraine, Ernst Reichel, said yesterday in an interview.
“In any case, this does not contradict our position: our focus is to return to Ukraine’s sovereignty over its entire territory. This is the goal of the Minsk agreements”, — said the German diplomat foreign Minister.
Schaefer added that the process of regional elections is an important step for the restoration of democracy and the rule of law in the East of Ukraine. He also stressed that in accordance with the Agreements, recovery of border control should be the end of the process, which consists of 13 items.

“I want to reiterate that no one, including our Ambassador in Kiev, has not the slightest doubt about who is ultimately responsible for the outbreak of this conflict. No one in the government has no doubt that the separatists in the Donbas there are logistical, financial and military assistance from Russia”, — said Schaefer.
Asked to comment on the words of Reichel the presence of Russian troops in the Donbass, he said he “cannot say that such regular troops have occupied the separatist territories”.
While Schaefer has assured that the Federal government as a whole, including the Chancellor, foreign Minister and Ambassador to Ukraine directs its efforts to resolve the conflict and implement the Minsk agreements in 2015, which was signed by the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.
