The Ukrainian company will supply trams in Egypt

Ukrainian company “Tatra-Yug” (Odessa-Dnipro) won the competition and put 15 tram cars for the city of Alexandria in Egypt.

The tender was attended by six manufacturers from different countries of the world.

“The Ukrainian manufacturer with 24 years experience in the production of tram cars on the largest plant “Pivdenmash” has bypassed such competitors, as Stadler (Switzerland), CRRC Corporation (China) and other large-scale producers from Europe and Asia, received the order to renew the rolling stock, the oldest tram system in Africa and one of the oldest in the world. The project is built so that the new modern trams will be able to ride through the streets of Alexandria in the near future”, – stated in the message of “Tatra-Yug”.

The company stressed that “the project is unique not only in technical terms, this is the first order in Africa of this scale in the Ukrainian manufacturer of tram cars. It will provide work for about 250 Ukrainian companies, involved in the production process, improve the image of Ukraine, not only as an exporter of raw materials, but also as an industrial state”.

We will remind, in Ukraine in the near future needs to upgrade the public transport fleet in many cities.
