The conflicts in Europe and the initiative of the Secretary General. What was said Klimkin on the debate in the UN security Council

The Ukrainian side, now presiding in the UN security Council, is satisfied with the results of the meeting of the security Council to discuss conflict in Europe, which was held in the headquarters of the organization.

This was stated by the speaker of the permanent mission of Ukraine to the UN, Oleg Nikolenko, writes UKRINFORM.

The Ukrainian side, which was represented in the open debate, the Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin presented its proposals for conflict.

He stressed that some States in the open debate in the security Council were represented at the level of foreign Ministers. Among them, particularly Georgia, Lithuania, Hungary.

We will remind that earlier Pavlo Klimkin called on all key UN agencies, including the office of the Secretary-General and the Security Council to be more proactive and efficient in the process of resolving modern conflicts.

“Ukraine believes that the Secretary-General should take the lead in situations related to prevention and impact on the conflict. We also fully agree with the Secretary-General that the Security Council should more actively use the options outlined in Chapter 6 of the UN Charter,” – said the Ukrainian Minister.
