The appointment of the former Director of the counterterrorism center of the CIA and Ambassador-at-large for combating terrorism Joseph Cofer black member of the Board of Directors of Burisma will contribute to the expansion of the global presence of the company.

In 2005, after 30 years of public service, he moved to the private sector, where it advises companies on how to prevent security threats, as well as strategic expansion in countries with high entry barriers to the market. Black also worked for several international companies where he dealt with strategic advice on business development and various risks.
Burisma has recently announced that in 2017 the company plans to increase investments and allocate more than 100 million dollars for industrial development. Also, the group plans to drill 20 new wells with a total depth of about 100 km.
According to the statistics of the company for the past two years, the company paid about 200 million dollars to the budget of Ukraine and is one of the largest taxpayers in the country.
