The vast majority of security forces in Crimea, betrayed Ukraine when Russia moved to an open occupation. This was stated by the NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov in an interview to mark the third anniversary of the seizure of the Crimean Parliament and Cabinet.
As Turchynov told to the edition “Censor”, after reports on the seizure of government buildings, he gave the command of the internal troops, located in Simferopol, to surround and to prepare a storm captured by Russian special forces areas.
“Internal troops were able to conduct patrols of the buildings, but under pressure from a gathering of a large number of Pro-Russian Crimeans, and not after several hours, dispersed. I was told that in the circumstances they are not able to complete the task,” – said Turchinov.
According to the NSDC Secretary, of all members of the security forces, betrayed Ukraine only 16.7% of the security forces.
“The situation was tragic. Among the military and security forces began a massive shift to the side of the aggressor. To understand the situation, do not betray your country stationed in the Crimea 13468 soldiers and officers of the Armed forces only 3990 (29,6%), of 10936 employees of the interior Ministry – only 88 people (0,8%!), from 1870 the guards returned to Ukraine only 519 (27,7%), of 2240 employees of the SBU only 242 (10,8%), of 527 officers and warrant officers of Department of state protection has not betrayed Ukraine – only 20 persons (3,8%)!” – said the head of the national security Council.
Earlier in the talk show “Right to Vlad,” 1+1 former head of the SBU Valentyn Nalyvaychenko told that to defend the Crimea was not with anyone, because the military have moved EN masse to the enemy.
