Gontareva announced the signing of the Memorandum with the IMF and the easing of foreign exchange restrictions

National Bank Chairman Valery Gontareva expects the signing of a Memorandum of cooperation with the International monetary Fund.

“We expect that the signing of the Memorandum with the IMF will be held in the near future”, – said Gontareva at a press briefing in Kiev, transfers UNIAN.

With the signing of the Memorandum the head of the national Bank links the possibility of easing foreign exchange restrictions.

“When we sign the Memorandum, we will be able to move forward,” she said.

At the same time on the website of the national Bank notes that while will refrain from easing monetary policy and will keep interest rates at 14%. In NBU the decision attributed to the fact that due to multiple negative factors (fighting in the East, blockade of transport, etc.), the inflation rate for three quarters of 2017 is unlikely to be below 10% (in January rose to 12.6%), so to get to the end of the year a planned target of inflation (8%), it is necessary to adhere to more stringent methods.

Recall before it became known that the Ukrainian side has sent the IMF an updated Memorandum of cooperation. The text is kept secret, only its individual possible points published in the media. With the adoption of the associated Memorandum of granting Ukraine a new loan of $ 1 billion.
