Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said that the energy blockade of Donbass is playing to the interests of the Russian Federation.
It is reported by Government portal.
According to the head of the Cabinet, the actions of the blockade have nothing to do with patriotism and force Ukraine to buy coal from the aggressor at a higher price.

“I think it has nothing to do with patriotism. I do not exclude that those who sit on the rails, have their logical vision of patriotism. But those who organizes, I believe, work against Ukraine. And the consequences that we will have, the obvious: the undermining of the national currency, economic growth, reduction in budget revenues, social programs – can for them to forget, [reduction of] jobs,” – said Groisman.
According to him, Ukrainian politicians, who have joined the campaign, do not explain the situation and somehow trying to “stick it to the Russians.”

According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, the coal desperately needed in Ukraine, and should not be subject to pressure and blackmail. Energy blockade, according to Groisman, actually encourages Ukraine to buy coal from the aggressor.

“We are talking about that we get the coal from our Ukrainian mineral resources and means for production and coal fall in the Ukrainian enterprises which are registered in Ukraine, and in the accounts of Ukrainian banks. In the case when the rails are blocked, we are forced to buy our coal, and there are only two ways to buy: either in the USA or in Russia. The fact is that the blockade induces to buy coal in Russia”, – said the Prime Minister.
According to government estimates, losses from the energy blockade reach billion. Groisman also appealed to the people to cease their action and not to undermine the situation.
“I said I demand from you that you have ceased to undermine the independence of our home, a beautiful country (… ) So, colleagues, not polygraphite Russians don’t undermine Ukraine from within and listen to the real state of Affairs, which you provoked. You provoked problems today that will affect hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian families, and possibly millions,” he concluded.

February 15 at a special meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers approved the decision on introduction of state of emergency in the electricity market. Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman again condemned the blocking of the supply of anthracite coal from the occupied territories.
Groisman also urged the participants of the blockade to remove it because it threatens Ukraine’s energy security.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers negotiated with the blockade, however, on 27 February, the Headquarters of the blockade of Donbass has announced that it is withdrawing from the negotiations with the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
