Nasalik will initiate a ban on the import of coal from Russia

The Minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Igor Nasalik will initiate a ban of import of thermal coal from the Russian Federation. The Minister said before the Cabinet meeting, the correspondent of TSN.

As the Minister explained, enterprises may lack of coal due to the blockade of trains with anthracite from the occupied territories. Previously, large enterprises, particularly the steel, such shortage was covered by imports from Russia. To replace coal from Donbass supplies from Russia or the United States, however, Russia was chosen due to the fact that Russian coal is cheaper.

Now, explain in the Cabinet, coal from Russia is the same as from the US, and this is much more than delivery of OGLO. Moreover, the Ministry has information that the Russians can sell coal to Ukraine from the occupied territories.

The plans of the leaders of the militants to nationalize Ukrainian mines Nasalik did not comment, only said that “this is a question for Zakharchenko” (the leader of the Donetsk militants).

We will remind, the railway blockade in the Donbass continued for almost a month. Trains carrying coal from militant-controlled territories do not miss dobrobiti – I consider it unacceptable to trade with the invaders. Their requirement is not only to stop the trade, but also to formalize the territories controlled by the aggressor, the status of the occupied. On 2 March, the Chief of Staff of the economic blockade ORDA reported the transition to the second stage – the blocking of roads.
